Parents = Role Models
Watching Mom and Dad 24/7

No doubt, parents are the primary role models for their children. The question that comes to mind is “What is it that we, as parents, are role modeling?” I know in my own life I have watched our own children speak and act like their father and I do in more ways than I ever imagined or wanted for that matter!
We can make choices as role models. Support in making those choices, especially in relation to the physical, emotional, and spiritual well being of our children is important. In the context of the congregation, “How can we give parents tools to be faith role models for their children and what steps do we take to communicate the need to have them?” I believe we, as parents, need help. I certainly did!
In this article I share a story that has been making the rounds via the internet sent to me by my friend and fellow ministry partner, Drew Tiedtke. It’s food for thought!

Balancing lives in the home

Christmas can be a very stressful time of year for many of us. Choosing between what has to be done and what is traditionally done to please others is a balancing act. Family is a source of both joy and sadness especially at this time of year. Most times preparing hearts and homes to celebrate the coming of the Christ child and His coming again gets buried in our everyday lives. So, what really matters?
Family! The home should be the first place we connect with His love.
In Colossians 3, there are rules given for Christian households:
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Colossians 3:23-24
